MEGAROB M24 Meeting in Beasain

During the 13th and November 14th took place the meeting related to the second year of MEGAROB project’s in the GH headquarters in Beasain, Basque Country, project partner and responsible of the design and development of the structure for the demonstrator of the Project.

MEGAROB is entering the third and final year of the project, and is finalizing the construction of the demonstrator facilities at AITIIP; therefore, a scale prototype made by additive manufacturing (SLS) on AITIIP was used during the meeting, serving as the basis for the technical discussion on the layout of the final demonstrator. Furthermore, this prototype is detachable and has served and will be used as a tool for the dissemination activities of the project.

As usual, we can summarize the main results of the project at this point:

• WP4 is currently focused on improving the positioning algorythm in real time and in the interface and high level software to control the entire system.
• WP5, aimed to the manufacture and setting-up of the demonstrator, despite some delays due to logistics and delivery time of some parts, has been auccessfully started and is expected to have it fully operational for the next meeting in six months.
• The dissemination activities and project management are still carried out normally. It is important to note that regarding the exploitation of results, in Zurich on the M23 a dedicated meeting was held, also having the majority of partners and with highly satisfactory results to guide activities in this regard.

The next meeting will take place presumably in May in AITIIP facilities in Zaragoza, Spain.

MEGAROB M24 Meeting en Beasain

Durante los días 13 y 14 de Noviembre se llevó a cabo la reunión correspondiente al segundo año del proyecto MEGAROB en la sede principal de GH en Beasain en el País Vasco, socio del proyecto y encargado de la estructura del demostrador para el proyecto.

Entrando en el tercer y último año del proyecto, se está ultimando la construcción del demostrador en las instalaciones de AITIIP, y por ello se utilizó durante la reunión un prototipo fabricado a escala mediante additive manufacturing (SLS) por AITIIP, sirviendo para la discusión técnica para el layout del demostrador final. Además, este prototipo es desmontable y ha servido y servirá como herramienta también para las actividades de difusión del proyecto.

Como viene siendo habitual, podemos resumir los resultados principales en este punto del proyecto:

• El WP4 está centrado actualmente en perfeccionar el algoritmo de posicionamiento en tiempo real y en la interfaz y software de alto nivel para el control de la totalidad del sistema.
• El WP5, destinado a la fabricación y puesta en marcha del demostrador, a pesar de algunos retrasos debido a logística y tiempos de entrega de piezas se ha conseguido arrancar satisfactoriamente y se espera tenerlo plenamente operativo para el siguiente meeting dentro de seis meses.
• Las actividades de difusión y gestión del proyecto se siguen realizando con total normalidad. Es importante remarcar que se realizó un meeting respecto a la explotación de los resultados en Zurich en el M23, contando también con la mayoría de socios y con resultados altamente satisfactorios para encauzar las actividades a ese respecto.

El próximo meeting se celebrará presumiblemente en Mayo, en las instalaciones de AITIIP en Zaragoza, España.
