Bianna Recycling was in charge of building the Alt Empordà Waste Treatment Centre, with the capacity to receive and treat up to 60.000 tonnes per year.
Bianna Recycling is dedicated to the manufacture of equipment for waste treatment as well as to engineering, consulting, advisory and maintenance services.
In anticipation of the progressive growth of selective collection and the remaining fraction, the facility is designed to take on future capacity scenarios without the need to make modifications.
In this plant, the remains of organic matter of rejection will be stabilized and valuable materials will be recovered, these being delivered to a waste manager for recycle, reducing this way much of the amount of waste that the controlled tank takes.
After the process of selective collection, decomposition and composting of the organic, a mechanical pre-treatment will be carried out to separate unsuitable waste, and the product will be matured to obtain a quality compound for agricultural use. The capacity of the organic fraction treatment is about 10.000 tons per year.
The facility will serve about 140.000 inhabitants, in an area that receives the effects of the seasonality of the population, as a result of the impact of tourism.
These facilities have a double rail bridge crane with open carriage made by GH CRANES & COMPONENTS and specially designed to withstand work in such aggressive environments for the proper functioning of the mechanisms.
The crane, with a load capacity up to 8t, equipped with an electrohydraulic activation orange peel grabs, is manipulated by the operator through a fixed cabin which allows to control all operations by means of the installed cameras.
